アブストラクト：
Matroids is invented by Hassler Whitney in 1935. It is generally considered to be a branch of combinatorics. An axiomatic definition of matroids is given as an abstraction of the properties held among the linearly independent subsets of a finite collection of vectors and edge sets of forests in graphs. An informal introduction to Matroid Theory will be followed by some interesting new results. The introduction will include motivations and definitions of matroids, geometric representations, cryptomorphisms, duality of matroids and lattices of matroids. The new results will include cyclic and isthmus operators and properties of the sublattice R(X) of lattices of cyclic flats.

マトロイド理論はHassler Whitney によって１９３５年に考案され、組み合わせ理論の一分野と して扱われています。ベクトル空間（線形空間）での線形独立ベクトルの集合とグラフ理論での 森の辺集合の両方に共通する性質を公理化した、抽象独立という概念を扱う理論です。ベクトル の無い線形独立、あるいは頂点の無いグラフ理論と呼ぶこともあります。今回はインフォーマル なマトロイドのイントロダクションとして、マトロイドを学ぶ動機、マトロイドの定義、マトロ イドの幾何的表現法、クリプトモフィズム、マトロイドのデュアル、束（ラテス）を紹介します。 そのあと、サイクリックフラットの束Lattices of Cyclic Flats に関する自分の研究について話し ます。
